What about Zubivka

Post by Claus von Weiss »

Ok, it's been quite a while indeed, but still I wonder, what's become of the good ol' Zoobster? :-? Any news, I wonder? He always was a real inspiration to this board, wasn't he?

Paul is still living in Brittany (western France) and still playing whistle last I heard. He simply chooses not to be affiliated with C&F anymore.

The same thing has gone down with Patrick Thouron. And countless other French people.

I thought Zubivka was russian  Must have confused him with somebody, or just missunderstood something.

Zubivka is French of Ukrainian extraction. Although I communicated with him often away from the board, I don't know why he left. He was growing visibly impatient with the callow anti-French sentiments dominating political threads at the time. Also he is a very active man and I think he might have decided that he was spending too much time on line.

I miss him, but can understand a need to go cold-turkey.

Me too. I appreciate it muchly.

Patrick Thouron was American of French extraction, so the increasing anti-French sentiment also probably scared him away. Come to think of it--where has Claudine been lately?

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

I miss ol' Zoob, too. He's a very bright guy, broad interests, good sense of humor, and always expressed himself well.
