Stuttering songs...

Post by brewerpaul »

OK-- what's the deal with popular songs featuring speech impediments?

I was driving home the other night and heard "Bad To The Bone" (b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-bad). That got me thinking of the Who's "My Generation".

Any others?

Not exactly stuttering, but there's "Land Of A Thousand Dances" (No,no,no,no,...etc) and "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone" (I know, I know,I know,I know, etc)
Got wood?

You mean he's not really saying "Wino, wino, wino. . ."?

There's also Ba-ba-ba-ba-Babara Ann.

Ch-ch-ch-changes, turn and face the strain, ch-ch-changes...

Ok, if we really want to use the way-back machine:
K-k-k-k-k-Katy, beautiful Katy, you're the only g-g-g-girl that I adore...

And:
The biggity-bones, they liggity-lie, distiggity-sturb them niggity-nigh,
way diggity-down in tiggity-Tennessee...

And a little Johnny Cash:
It's the Orange Blossom Special...comin' to take my baby back,
(Don't know if I do-da-do-da-do-da-do...)

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
I know, I know I know, I know, I know

It's actually kinda fun reading all the written interpretations here. Visual stuttering is pretty amusing. Especially Gary Kelly's entry (how many 'o's and 'u's are there in 'you'?)...

I'm disappointed too. I should have thought of that one.
