I only have 8. I need more whistles!! I have my first--an unknown D tinwhistle (bought in a Civil War gift shop on a lark), a Feadog D, a Clare two-piece D, 2 Clarks-- a C and a D Celtic Sweetone, a Waltons D, an Acorn D, and a Howard Low D. Out of those, the only ones I like are my Acorn D and my Howard Low D.
I hope to acquire an improved O'Briain's soon, in nickel. Gotta save my pennies.

After my recent sell-off to raise money for moving and a music room (den conversion), I have the following left.
<B>Whistles (not getting regular play)</B>:
Assorted inexpensive regulard-d whistles including feadog, Guiness, Sweetones (4 used as give-aways), clark tweeked, a couple of other's; about 10 whistles.
<B>The whistles that get regular play.</B>
I'm sure once I get settled into the new house and get the den converted to a music room, Whoa will kick in again; but for know, these should give me a chance to sit back and enjoy my music.

- soprano-c regular tunable
- Burke: soprano-d Narrow-bore composite.
- Overtons all non-tunable:
- mezzo-soprano A,
- alto F,
- tenor D (my "cosmic drainpipe or Big O).
- Dixon Flute: 3 piece polymer conical bore keyless, D.
- Guitars:
- 1970 Goya 12 string (steel dreadnought, got me through HS and College and is my primary session instrument),
- 1975 Epiphone 6 string (steel acoustic dreadnought),
- unknown brand classical style nylon 6 string.
- Banjo: Framus folk 5 string (baritone has 3 extra frets (collecting dust).
- Bodhran(s):
- Remo-18" collecting dust,
- Roundstone 19" is starting to get played.
- Yamaha soprano recorder (hides in the drawer seriously out numbered by the Irish roudies in the house).

High Ds:
Dixon with brass tuning slide
Clare one-piece brass
Feadog brass (presently with a LBW head)
Generation brass (it's a good one)
Oak (presently wearing the Feadog head)
Walton LBW (with its own head)
Sweetone
Meg
C whistles:
Generation nickel
Meg (not a good one)
And a Bb nickel Generation
I just got the Dixon last week. So far I like it a lot but it's WAAAY louder than any of the others. Except for the C Meg I play most of them at least a couple of times per week.

Hmmm...
A friend mentioned to me after I showed him this thread: "So are all those people trying to compensate for something?" LOL
If only the rest of civilization understood our plight!
As for me, I've pared down my collection quite a bit over the past year. The whistle I reach for first on most days is my 'improved' Feadóg, but I also play my Oak pretty regularly too. I have a new Meg, that is a great backup when I can't find the other two!
Apart from them, I've got a Burke brass pro session, a Shaw, and a Clarke original. All of the aforementioned whitles are in D. I also have a Clarke original C, and a Gen D and F.
Since moving to the pipes, the whistle collection has taken a sharp dive. If only you could get a decent half-set and tweak it a bit to get a GREAT half-set....all the while only having spent 10 dollars!! That must be what heaven's like!

I can't say the same about all thes as I did about the whistles. Most of them aren't played regularly, which is too bad, because there's a lot of cool stuff. We're waiting till we retire to take up most of these again.
