Introduction

Post by DavidT »

A round of whatever yer havin' with my compliments. Nice place ya got here. Been listenin' to (OK, readin') the board and been through the C&F site. Reached the conclusion that most of y'all are a sick litter of pups -- my kind of crowd!
Been a semi-pro musician for most of half a century, mostly guitar and bass; country, classic rock (oxymoron?), blues and bluegrass. I readily confess to bein' a part of the rabid pack of Riverdance and Chieftans fans and I've seen "The Quiet Man" enough times to have the entire dialog nearly memorized.
Actin' on impulse, I eBayed one of those very cheap brass Low D's from India a couple of weeks ago. It was good enough to set the hook, and bad enough to prompt me to order a tweaked Clarke and a Dixon Low D. I blamed it on Dale when my wife saw the invoice. Oh, yeah... and two Joanie CD's. Those are Dale's fault too.
I've had to place a towel over my keyboard when lookin' at the posted pics of the collections of fine wood whistles. WhOA strikes very early in this game!
Enough ramblin'. Thanks for sharin' your experiences and expertise to one and all.
And please don't mind me as I sit over here in the corner, occasionally blurtin' out rookie questions.
Hi. My name is David and I'm a whistleholic.

Not all of us are sick puppies.

Some of us are cats.

Others still are rats or hedgehogs.

But none of us are geese, I'll give you that.

Tell us something.: I've picked up the tinwhistle again after several years, and have recently purchased a Chieftain v5 from Kerry Whistles that I cannot wait to get (why can't we beam stuff yet, come on Captain Kirk, get me my Low D!)

No, I think it's ok...Dub isn't here right now. Besides, I think Jbarter can find a place to hide him until the coast is clear, if need be.

Welcome, David! You are indeed correct in saying that there are some sick individuals here...I am not one of them, but I sympathize with their plight. :D
Don't blame Dale too much right now...he burned his hand. Instead, you can blame Tyler. He won't mind, will you Tyler?

I'd think that the flute players would be upset about the geese!

Welcome, David. There's a guy named "Bloomfield" on this board. Just send him the invoice. He'll take care of it for you. And just write across the invoice: "Dale says hi."

I actually liked that movie...although it was more for the town. I would absolutely love to live in a town like that :)
