Best whistle under the shower?

Post by brotherwind »

Hi,
my obsession forces my to try out my whistles while showering. I made bad experiences with my Dixon tunable high D. Its toneholes are so small, that the soapy waterfilm closes them rending the whistle unplayable.

Today I took my nontunable Chieftain low D with me and it was gorgeous. The whistle warmed up much quicker than usual and played very nicely. The toneholes are big enough to prevent the moisture to close.

Hey folks, tell me: Am I mad? Am I obsessed?

Cheers,

brotherwind

Sounds like good clean fun.

At my former home we had a swimming pool and I used to love to float at the end of a day with a beer and a whistle...

i am just days away from setting up my swimming pool and spending the warm days floating and whistling and fluting. i will wait for that perfect day to play the whistle in the shower. my wife will be certain that i have totally lost it at that point.

I ran into the same problem with the water film closing toneholes when I tried to play a sweetone in a swimming pool a few years ago :)

erm ... so anyone here know the current record for underwater whistling - either in duration or number of whales summoned?
All the best!

I would say the obvious choice for such whistling would be the Water Weasel. ;)

hehe one of my favorite pastimes is right before I go to bed is to sit in the room with all the lights out and play my whistle. Normally something slow. Whatever notes come to mind. Very relaxing before sleeping heh.
