So many people are not as lonely as they were before the Chiff.

Well, C&F is a lot of different things for a lot of different people, so enquiring minds tend to be er...enquiring. Saying "for everything" is kind of too blankety, since there are bound to be aspects you don't care too much for.
There, there.

Doug, you have, once again, expressed my exact sentiments, right down to the OCD.

Topical quote from the Gruaniad, "Review" section, Saturday 25/03/2006
from an article by John Banville entitled "Beckett on the Couch":
(Becket quoted) "I used to play the tin whistle by the way at the Ecole Normale, a rusty old tin whistle. I had a tin whistle and I used to tweetle on it, and in Dublin too."
Now there is a thing not many people knew.
Chiff and Fipple has taught me many things I never knew. And allowed me to share one or two things I did know.

This has been the perfect place for me through some very odd times in my life. It's made the world a still smaller place and taught me things I was unaware I didn't know.

In the past I've disagreed on political/religious matters with someone who posted his opinions. However, over the past couple of months, I've noticed this same person posting about random topics, usually in the pub forum, and realized we actually have many interests in common and our posting exchanges (and even an email or two) have completely changed the way I think of this person. He's become a very real, interesting, friendly person to me. I now have an friendly acquaintance who lives in a country far from me. I'll treat his political/religious posts with more respect and be more careful about my replies. To me, that's the secret to peace in the world!

All of this thanks to Dale and his always humorous, kindhearted leadership and moderation.

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Tut, tut. Congratulations didn't say "for everything", did he.

I'm grateful for C&F, too. I don't think it's necessary to say why.

Ten years of something very special! And many happy returns for it.

Thank you for this forum, Dale. Through it I have also made some wonderful friends that I never would have had the opportunity to meet elsewhere. For that I am truly grateful.

Oh, yeah, and I did learn a thing or two about whistles too...forgot about that part

Thanks Dale, and everyone else.
I love C&F, and I think I'll continue to do so no matter what.
It's so nice to be part of this group with so many different people. I feel like I can talk to the board about anything, and I'll always get support and advice if I need it. We are all here for the same original reason, but now, this community is about so much more than that. I know that I have a lot to be thankful for.

Thanks to everyone who makes this possible.

I wonder if any other companies have the name "C&F"? I can't imagine there'd be anything else brave enough to try to take the name...

Thanks to C&F I learned quite a lot about this strange sixholed device, we all love, and I got to know some really fine people, who share my addiction.
So thanks, Dale, my musical world would probably be poorer without you and C&F.

Cheers

I've been here seven years.
What a long strange trip it's been!
