How about "alter kocker"?
Oh, you said Irish, not Yiddish.... never mind......

(alter kocker is sometimes abbreviated AK, and means literally "old sh*tter)

Y'oul sod!
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

"A seanduine dóite!"

"Hey, decrepit old man!"

I'd pronounce it "Ah shyan-dweenye doytche"

(but I'd probably be wrong.)

Come to think of it, Terry Wogan calls himself and his gang of old geezers "Coffin Dodgers." And if Dubhlinn's post means what I think it does, it's the same thing...

You have to lenite it in the vocative: "A sheanduine dóite" (uh HYAN-din-eh DOH-cheh)

Another good one: "giostaire": a chatty old man

Thanks, Redwolf. I knew you put an "H" in there but got lost with the pronunciation.

Also means "withered" or "bitter."
