I once taught myself to play this on whistle, half-holing and all.
However, I was nobody's favorite.

And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

'nuff said.
[EDIT 1:]
(BTW, which version? My wife sings - and I am partial to - the Gounod version - using Bach's C major prelude as accompaniment)
[EDIT 2:]
Congratulations, Congratulations, your response beat my First Edit!

Now, do you mean which Ave Maria, or which performance of Schubert's Ave Maria? Because there's like 1000 different Ave Marias.
Of all the different Ave Marias out there, I like the Bach/Gounod thing best.
And of all the performances (that I've heard) of Schubert's Ave Maria, I like the one that was the closing credits for Wings.

Why? Because of what it said about the character's love for his "soul mate".

Heh. I also think "Chris in the Morning" on KBHR was the best radio show that never existed.emmline wrote:Dangitall Slude! I was just about to cite that very example. We are related.
