Chiff & Fipple Map Update

Post by Dale »

For those of you with slower connections and/or not enough patience to wait for the entire C&F Geographic Domination map to load, here's the current distribution of 713 of our members. That is, of course, only the folks who took the time to map themselves--a mere fraction of our World Force. That's the really scary part! As you'll see, we've completely conquired the continental USA and Western Europe is nearly under our control.

Of course, there's a bit of a scale problem here, due to the fact that each member is depicted as a sort of hot air balloon-shaped object roughly the size of Lousiana. But, still, pretty impressive coverage.

Ah. North Dakota. It WILL be mine. Oh, yes, it will be mine.

So, who's volunteering to move to North Dakota?

Ok, ok, take it easy. One at a time!

We have a winner. Joseph E. Smith is moving to North Dakota. Thanks to the ever-loyal Joseph.

But he doesn't actually have to move to North Dakota, he just has to say on the map that he is in North Dakota!

How about Tanzania? Do we have anyone in Tanzania? Or Angola?

Dale, who did the coding on the Chiff Google Maps API?

And would they mind the charity I work for adapting some of that code?
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

How thoughful to ask. I prefer the cut and paste method. Rename a few variables, rearrange a few data structures and viola. Done.
I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm

Except for the far western edge maybe: the thing still thinks I live in an 'invalid city' and refuses to add me to the map. Anyway to get around this (I have tried mind you but I am not going to say I live in Limerick or Shannon if you don't mind)

One member in Wyoming.

It's Cheney, isn't it?

Dick?

You out there?

He's probably borrowing a C&F bunker for this week's Undisclosed Location.

Best,

Tim

Cheney's a poser. If it was Dale, it'd be an Undisputed Location, which is way better than an Undisclosed Location.
