Oh! It changes to "because she says so" when you get married to a woman. That's the confusion, I think.jsluder wrote:I thought it was "...if I have to..."Jerry Freeman wrote:Let us now bow our heads and recite the Man's Prayer:

"The Best Kind of Blasphemy"--that sounds like a Sylvia Plath poem, doesn't it?Walden wrote:I guess if you have to blaspheme, inadvertant blasphemy is the best kind of blasphemy... y'know, if there could be such a thing as a best kind of blasphemy.Jerry Freeman wrote:Edited to correct inadvertant blasphemy.

Men and women are both happy and unhappy, sometimes occastionally and sometimes all the time. Men seem to be prone to violence, anger, and are often unable to express their feelings. Sorry to say it, fellows. It seems you guys commit more violent crimes than women . . . and often against us! What the heck did we ever do to you?
None the less, I like men and I like being the only women with a small group of men . . . as long as it's a platonic thing. Guys are funny. Guys find me funny. Being with a group of guys is better than a group of women. Not that I'd want to be one of you . . . as the aformentioned, it's not all roses and men have just a hard time as women, maybe more.

It makes the birdies swoon
It sends them to the moon

It's a joke folks, and meant to be taken with a few grains of salt.
My hubby, not the one for belittling of men, even found it quite funny.

Yeah. My poor sister once had her half-slip fall to the ground in public. She got over it.anniemcu wrote:You almost never have strap problems in public.
Was there anything in there about panty hose---getting them on when you're pretty sure no one is going to see you struggling away, getting snags in the darn things before you even have them on, trying to figure out if a run will show or not, do you get reinforced toes, sandal toes, control top, oh lord.

You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.

My understanding is that women get the same pay for the
same work (otherwise few employers would hire men). Also that women
college grads tend to start at higher salaries than men.
But if you want to work and also take time off to have kids
and be a mom, that leads to lower salaries because
you are on the job for less time, finally, then men and
women who started when you did but took no breaks.
Yeah, very few women seemed to be involved in
armed robberies and other violent crime.
And I don't think that's entirely cultural, either.
On the other hand, my understanding is that the
majority of children murdered in the USA are
murdered by women. Think about that.....
Oh, yes, by the way, women can certainly be
president, but the woman who succeeds will
probably not be identified as a feminist, and that tends to
exclude left wing women. Whatever contributions
feminism has made to women's getting ahead,
I do think it has tended to marginalize them
as professional politicians. Just as the African Americans who
have been considered for president (e.g. Powell
and Rice) haven't been identified with the
civil rights movement.
