Harrison Ford
Bladerunner
One thing about Harrison Ford--the guy can act but he a)got
old, and b) got typed. He can't play the devil-may-care
rascal with the gleam in his eye so well when he's old,
so now he's this upright fellow with lots of integrity.
Bruce Willis is interesting cause he's willing to take
chances, as in The Sixth Sense.
It's kind of sad to see DeNiro, cause he was great and
now he's sort of walking through most of his films, IMO.

Try the "director's cut" sometime. There's no narration, and no pseudo-happy ending. It's much better than the theatrical release, and somewhat truer to the book (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?).Congratulations wrote:I really hated Blade Runner. And I love science fiction. I buy out-of-print science fiction books and read them, but Blade Runner was a chore to sit through.
The music was by Vangelis, and you can buy the soundtrack. Vangelis also did the music for Chariots of Fire, 1492, and a Japanese documentary called Antarctica, among others. I also enjoy his collaborations with Jon Anderson (of Yes fame).amar wrote:And the music that went with it.....gave me the chills..

Yes, the happy ending to BR wasn't helpful. Much
better that Harrison goes off desperately in love
with a replicant he knows will die within four years.
Ridley Scotts movies LOOK wonderful, say what you want.
Remember Alien?
Solaris was good, both the russian version and
the Steven Soderburgh remake.

There's enough different between "...Androids...." (the book) and Bladerunner that I like them both very well.
I like the Alien series up to #2. Three was OK and 4 didn't work. I didn't like that Ripley had become part alien. The essence of her character was her absolute hatred of the aliens. With her being half alien she wasn't the same.

I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm
