What's ironic is that he will probably be remembered far longer for his music contributions than for his charitable works.

Let's throw some oil on the fire here: what's the use of throwing a lot of money into poor areas when it can never be enough to resolve the problems there? By helping keep more poor people alive aren't we just fostering an ongoing cycle of over-population, poverty, disease, crime, etc.?

What's the point of eating when you're just going to be hungry again later?
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

Eating should be reserved for those who can feed themselves. Trouble begins when you start feeding those who can't. Then they just want more. And there's too many of them for you to ever feed them all, or well.

Your stomach can't feed itself. Why should you feed it? It's only going to want to be fed again later.

This must be a record, even by our standards.

A thread hijacked at the second post.

Slan,
D.
And many a poor man that has roved,
Loved and thought himself beloved,
From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.

Yeah, I think I'll toddle over to the contentious forum and hijack the conversations. I'll make 'em discuss music or fluffy bunnies.
May the joy of music be ever thine.

He made up his mind to make a new start.

He was walking in the park just the other day. What do you think he saw?
I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm

Page Nolonger, who the hell is that? You're damn right he has to pay taxes, just like the rest of us...Mr. Nolonger is no more special than the rest of us...now Jimmy Page on the other hand... :P

This topic has crossed the border between fluff and political/controversal stuff. Please return to the original topic.
