I am an American mutt from a long line of hicks, drunks, horse thieves, snobs (musical and otherwise) and inventors. I have freckles, though - does that count ?

Mostly Irish on my father's side, mostly English on my mother's side.

There's an unconfirmed story that my great-great-grandfather James McFeeley was in the Easter Rising of 1916.

I don't remember if I ever posted on this thread...... :o

I'm all German, 3rd generation born in the US on both sides. Somewhere back there was a French speaking great-grandmother from Alsac-Lorraine (and I know I probably didn't spell that correctly).

I became interested in Celtic music when I first started playing mountain dulcimer (geesh - that's been over 15 years ago!). My teacher was also a Celtic harpist, and most of the music I first learned was harp tunes transposed to the dulcimer.

That is a very neat way of doing that. There is one thing I'm not quite understanding. Is that Chinese writing above each flag on the top row? Would that have a particular reason for being there?

I can tell you have not been to the website in my profile. :D

It is Chinese. I recycled the graphic from something else. I did it because many of my friends are Chinese, and my hobbies are learning to play the Irish Whistle and learning to speak Mandarin Chinese. 可是,我说得不好(you probably can't see that unless you have east asian fonts installed).

I think I got the flags from http://www.worldatlas.com/webimage/flags/flagcnty.htm

Then some work in Photoshop... and viola!

99,9% Norwegian. I have a great-great-great etc. grandfather on my mother's side from some 300-400 years ago who came from Germany and introduced a, till this day, tradition for ship owning (well not so much anymore) and business.
