The old "kissing an ashtray" is silly. Try kissing an ashtray sometime.

I've been a smoker for way too long. I am again quitting. In fact starting today. I was told I have a slight case of asthma triggered by high humidity and smoking. Having experienced an attack last summer convinced me I really need to do something about it.

As much as cigarette breath may offend , I think coughing and hacking crud all day is even less attractive.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that every one isn't out to get you.

Yes you will. I had the same trouble but I found that a decongestant pill cleared my paranoids a treat and now I sleep like a baby.

Hey Tali, we can see you didn't like your thread being hijacked. Cold comfort to know it happens all the time.

It occurs to me the reason smokers are drawn to the thread has to do with a group gathering around a topic and not segregated by views on the topic. It is a rare thing these days. It makes for a much more balanced discussion.

We don't always have to be dividing the world into two halves. Us and Them. If you divide people more or less evenly into two halves on only one criteria, you miss so much. Add another criteria and re-slice. (Now are those people that are only in one group Us or Them?) Reslice on 5 more criteria and you have something in common with nearly every human on this planet. We are all US you guys.

Peace, Nancy

Having smoking and non-smoking sections in a restaurant makes about as much sense as having peeing and non-peeing sections in a swimming pool.

I do not feel obliged to believe that that same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.

You're right. Get rid of the non-smoking sections.

If I remember correctly, I only tried my first cigarette afther kissing a girl who smoked. I quite liked the taste of that kiss, of course, I was teenager back then. Now I rarely smoke, once every two months or so, mostly cigars (I never was a real smoker) and I hate it when my girlfriend smokes (about once a month). I don't think she really deserves the hard time I give her when she has smoked.

Now, if they would start to import Don Miguels again ...

Cheers,

Rob
