Even though I'm no where near Houston, I appreciate you sharing your tunebook! That took a LOT of work compiling it, I'm sure.
Me to! I'm going through it page by page. It may take a couple of passes before I can play all the tunes as they come up. Some of them I already know, and some are very familiar from playing in a session every few months. Another pass through them and I may be able to play them all as they come up.

Of course, I realize I'm breaking the commandment, "Thou shalt not learn tunes from dots."

Thanks! I've not come close to learning all the tunes in there, I'm using mainly to hold the list of tunes I need to learn.

I usually try to learn from a recording I've made and then use the book to refresh my memory.

BTW, I'm usually indisposed on New Year's Day, so I suggest another date.

I would also be unavailable on New Year's Day.

I forget who was wondering about the Trader Vic's line, it's from "Werewolves of London" by Warren Zevon (RIP).

Ahhhhhhh, gotcha. I was like, "what the &@%! are they talking about?" there for a minute!

:P

I almost forgot to point out, Stuart, you used a smiley in your last post!

*gasp*

Quite right - I was going to use the term 'frowny' myself, but was so astonished by the incident that I felt it best to try and spell out my feelings in the most positive manner possible.

Generally I do eschew the whole smiley/frowny thing. But using said device had that, oh, je ne sais quoi about it.

So....

When is the gathering?

We can use my house, but I have to be able to be there!
(Well, or at least arrange for one of my sons to be there to let everyone in... 8) )

Or we can convene at a favorite watering hole.....
Or someone else's house this time.

Whatta y'all say?

I hope we can do it at Mary's - such a beautiful place, and the acoustics rule! Her dining room table was also built especially to hold 30+ flutes :)

As I said, I'm in on the 18th, out on the 7th of January.

Sorry, I'm finding it hard time to keep up with the board right now.

I'm planning on taking the week between Christmas and New Years off. Christmas day is out for me, as is New Years Eve and Day.

How are folks during that week?

If not, don't worry about me. My schedule is funny because of work and trying to sell the house, and I understand.
