Some people (like me) work in a field which requires verbal and written fluency way above the average. So on some days I might make three meaty posts but spend only half an hour on the board. A post that looks as though its taken hours to think out might be job or hobby related and might have been written in five or ten minutes.

The quoted post is #4999 on your counter so I take it your next will be all of twenty minutes worth of composing....

The Chiffworld awaits with bated breath...and I have a dictionary close to hand.

Slan,
D.
This got me thinking. Why not provide a service for all those chiffsters who are alphabetically challenged. Remember this little sucker and you'll never confuse your Ps and Qs again.

A bigamous, comically debauched evangelist, finding general happiness in jeapardy, kindly leaves moral niceties out, permitting quixotic revellers some time undressing very willing xenografted young zombies.

The challenge: do better. :)

That took all of 30 seconds.

And a happy 50th birthday to Steven Wright, the guy who asked, "Why is the alphabet in that order?", with no idea that a Wombat had the answer.

And, on another unrelated note, I saw a bottle of Wombat wine last night, right next to the 4 Emus wine. What'll they think of next?

If there is a message board out there in Cyberspace with a member as erudite and charming as the Wombat, I have yet to find it.

His knowledge of Blues and Jazz has opened many an interesting door here and his gentle grace in the more volatile threads is an inspiration to us all.
Having said that, I can almost forgive him for spending only thirty seconds on his 5K post

Well done Wombat,
It's always a pleasure, and often an education, to read your posts.
For all our sakes..keep them coming.

Slan,
D. :D

Now this jeapardy business..some obscure philosophical term maybe?
And many a poor man that has roved,
Loved and thought himself beloved,
From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.

A blazing candle, dripping earnestly from glowing heights, inpires joyous kudos mainly, nay only, presented quiveringly, respectfully, sincerely to unmatched voluminous Wombat: Xenocratic, yet zany.

Way to go, Wombat! 5K more, please!

I thought this post was going to be about this song:

A, You're Adorable
(The Alphabet Love Song)

When Johnny Jones was serenading Mary,
He sure could quote a lot of poetry
But he'd much rather tell her
what he learned in his speller
When they both attended PS thirty-three....

(chorus)
"A," you're adorable, "B," you're so beautiful,
"C," you're a cutie full of charms.
"D," you're a darling and "E," you're exciting
And "F," you're a feather in my arms.
"G," you look good to me, "H," you're so heavenly,
"I," you're the one I idolize.
"J," we're like Jack and Jill, "K," you're so kissable,
"L," is the lovelight in your eyes.

"M," "N," "O," "P," I could go on all day.
"Q," "R," "S," "T," alphabetically speaking, you're OK.

U," made my life complete, "V," means you're very sweet,
Double-"U" "X" "Y" "Zee."
It's fun to wander through the alphabet with you
To tell you what you mean to me.
(repeat the chorus)

Able-bodied collie dogs even forget grace, having ingested John's knowledge, like most, never over-priced (questionable); reason says to ultimately venerate Wombat's xylophonic yuletide zoo!

Okay... I couldn't do it. Oh well, now that you've reached the 5,000 point, you can rest confident enough to dispose of that tacky smoking jacket.

A better proxy for both reason and sense you'll be hard-pressed to find, as you'll surely agree.

But I meant something else, actually, playing a bit on what Wombat does professionally.
