Tell us something.: I play whistles. I sell whistles. This seems just a BIT excessive to the cause. A sentence or two is WAY less than 100 characters.

Who's Who in Posting - Top 40 (or so) .... (12/3/05)

Post by IDAwHOa »

People on CF with 2K or more posts

Why 2K? It seems that post count is an important thing and there are quite a large number
of 1K posters (and those approaching that number) now. So many that the customary jacket
and wash room key awards are not even mentioned any longer. So, 2K or 3K seem to be the
new "important" targets. :-? Not that 1Kers should be totally ignored.

It will be interesting to see how the top posters change as many of those with 3K + have become
more and more, if not totally, inactive here.

Thank you so much. You've managed to make me feel like a lightweight, which is more than my scales can do.

A little disturbed to find myself on the list yet again. At least I'm there with friends. You're right though, Steven, there are quite a few names from whom we no longer hear.

I used to be in the top 15 ages ago. Wonder what happened?

Me too. But I know what happened.

I can't believe some people are over 7500 posts.

I can't either, though it does look like some may be approaching that!

I knew I shouldn't have taken all that time off when we moved to Texas.

There, there. Verbosity isn't everything it is cracked up to be.... why, just look at me (I advise getting hammered first... eases the impact some :D ).

I always like to see a posts-per-day calculation with the total posts, to show who's been around a long time against who's been very active recently.

I'm pretty comfortable back at my 87th place. At least I don't look like a complete nerd :D

The 1k does seem to have lost some of it's former status recently. At least I was awarded with a smoking jacket when I got there.

Tell us something.: I've picked up the tinwhistle again after several years, and have recently purchased a Chieftain v5 from Kerry Whistles that I cannot wait to get (why can't we beam stuff yet, come on Captain Kirk, get me my Low D!)

There's nothing wrong with being in the 1k club still.
Quite frankly, I for one just don't have as much to say as I used to.

Tell us something.: This is the first sentence. This is the second of the recommended sentences intended to thwart spam its. This is a third, bonus sentence!

I figured that out for myself recently taking into account low/no post periods but I can't find the graph now!!!
I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm

Numbers of posts don't indicate much at all. Some posts would take the author all of 30 seconds. Some people (like me) work in a field which requires verbal and written fluency way above the average. So on some days I might make three meaty posts but spend only half an hour on the board. A post that looks as though its taken hours to think out might be job or hobby related and might have been written in five or ten minutes.
