A very brief discourse on brevity, wit and post counts.
And many a poor man that has roved,
Loved and thought himself beloved,
From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.

Congratulations, dubhlinn! I would hardly know where to begin to tell you how much I enjoy and learn from your posts, always made with so much heart and such clear insights and in language worthy of both. Favorites would be way too hard to choose, but I will say that I have had many a chuckle from this recent gem, in response to The Tao Te Chiff:

Looking forward to many, many more!dubhlinn wrote:It's Wisdom..absolute wisdom.
I now understand that my not playing sounds a lot better than my playing.
Especially on the tricky ones.

I understand that brevity is, in fact, the soul of wit.
Which probably means that loquaciousness is wit's very hindquarters.
(Not convinced? Observe...)
I feel I should mention that I came upon a blog titled "Loquacious of Blog"
(that's a Star Trek joke, in case you didn't catch it...), which I, of course,
had to investigate forthwith. I found that the blogger in question is not
only a master of science fiction referential humor, but also of stark irony:
"Loquacious of Blog" is, in fact, content-free.

And I am impressed by his proper use of the genitive with the gerund.dubhlinn wrote: I now understand that my not playing sounds a lot better than my playing.
(But where is his thesis? Carol did a thesis.)
