I need some good fast paced jigs and reels. Any suggestions?
Cheers!

Get Mary Bergins music off emusic.com, a tweaked E flat whistle and start playing along.
You will learn a lot.

Well Palmer's Gate is a great reel. The Roaring Barmaid is one of my favorite Jigs.

- Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

Try playing cut number 5 on Lunasa's Kinnity Sessions CD. There's some speed in that one.

Errr.... you do realize they go as fast as you play them, yes? While there are certainly some jigs and reels that sound nice slow, in general, they can all be played at a good clip.talimirr743 wrote:Sheet.

Yeah, my response was going to be "all of them". Can you narrow thecolomon wrote:Errr.... you do realize they go as fast as you play them, yes? While there are certainly some jigs and reels that sound nice slow, in general, they can all be played at a good clip.
field any? Is there a particular application you're interested in? Any
key? Single jigs, double jigs, slip jigs?
For reels, I'm partial to Cooley's, Sheehan's, Cup of Tea, Dick Gossip's
For jigs, I like Morrison's, Swallowtail, Atholl Highlanders, Kid on a Mountain
Most of these can be found here

Interestingly enough, that version of Dick Gossip's on that site has the A and B parts switched from the way I learned it.fearfaoin wrote:Yeah, my response was going to be "all of them". killer tune- wolvy and I had a long discussion about it in one of the other fora. It's tricky until the octave jumps get comfortable though.Tyghress wrote:Try Gravel Walk. . .always a nice one for blazing speed.
One that works really well fast but is fairly easy is the 2nd tune called "Robbie Hannan's Jig" from Jerry O'Sullivan's album The Invasion
