New Hoover CPVC Low G in fauxwood stain

Post by viejomc »

My new Hoover Low G arrived today. If it hadn't felt so light in my hands, I would have sworn it was made of wood. Really nice. Here's a link to a sound byte. Hope Mack forgives me for posting it before he heard it. I'm not as experienced as most on the forums but you'll get an idea of what it sounds like anyway. This is my second whistle made by Mack Hoover. They are a joy to play.

Chuck, Mack Hoover usually uses CPVC for his whistles. Here's a link to Mack's website, where you can find more pictures of his faux wood whistles. They look great!

Gary, what a goreous whistle ... and the music clip lives up to the look of whistle. :)

Mack Hoover makes excellent whistles. However, part of me is unsettled with plastic made to look like wood, especially for a whistle. To me, plastic looks fine.

They look great and sound nice! Perfect if you play at médeaval (spelling?) markets where (well here in Germany at most of them) modern materials are not that much liked so a wooden looking whistle can be coming VERY handy.

Nice one Mack!!!

Wow, I didn't know you could paint pvc.

Beautiful whistle. Looking at your picture, I would not have guessed that it wasn't real wood. I have several of Mack's whistles and love them all.
