Is it ok to use SCARY avatars(for halloween)?

Post by flanum »

Its just that i found a couple of clips from "Psycho" and the like, but i dont want to offend anyone.
I think this was discussed at one stage ie political/religious/demonic avatars. etc.,.

Rich told me that it's ok to use political, religious, and "make a statement" avatars as long as there are no mutilated bodies, sex scenes, pictures of Joan Rivers, etc.

I don't think you'll get anyone flipping out too bad with a ghost avatar. Oh, Psycho. I see the problem  . But aren't there a lot of pictures from that movie that would be scary without being bloody? Geez, just seeing a picture of Tony Perkins does it for me. I wouldn't really want to see chopped up bodies or people eating each other or unattached body parts. That does really sort of bother me. But I guess I could deal with it, I would just quit looking at it. I hope you'll get some better advice soon! Hmmm, I guess I'll start looking for one too!

My Halloween avatar is neither political nor religious nor demonic. It's art. :D

(It's part of an Arthur Rackham cover illustration for a collection of short stories by Edgar Allan Poe.)

Spike: "We band of buggered."

I don't mind ghosts and witches, or non-gory things. I don't like severed body parts (or Joan Rivers - she's SCARY!) and I don't like dripping blood.

Wonder where I could find a good picture of Vincent Price for an avatar?

Thank you annie!

Since it's for halloween I'll use the poster - but I really like the publicity photo, except for the cigarette!

I have no problem with Hallowe'en or scary pictures in avatars, so long as it's not photos of real corpses or the like.

Nope, that's fine. Just no Joan Rivers. (I can't believe Cran actually mentioned her! <gets shivers>)
