Hey Dale, what kind of whistle does Loren win from C&F for this honor?
He'd just sell it anyway.

So, that's what the winner looks like. That's just how I pictured Loren. Weird, huh?

Well, I almost made the list, being number 64 or so. Considering I've never even been on a Top 100 list, I still feel honored.

Tell us something.: "Tell us something" hits me a bit like someone asking me to tell a joke. I can always think of a hundred of them until someone asks me for one. You know how it is. Right now, I can't think of "something" to tell you. But I have to use at least 100 characters to inform you of that.

Oooh, oooh, does this mean I've finally earned the right to look down my nose and tell clueless newcomers their opinions don't matter as much as mine?

I've been waiting my whole life for this!

At 0.77 messages a day average I'm amazed that I made top 40. Even on the arse end of it.

Cheers,

Man, you go away for a few days of dirt, redwoods and river and come back on J. Edgar Wisely's Most Wanted.

Sure, I have my reasons for so many notes sent, especially while I was "working."

We're just "learning."

Allison, you're a lamer (just had to).

D'you guys know that Casey is an Arab? It confounds me to picture him in a burnoose or dish-dash or whatever they call the headthing, out in the desert rating camels..in ...that...voice.

[Note: above is not "hate" speech or putdown of a culture, but using words to seek to understand and confront this piece of cognitive dissonance].

Two photos on the same thread, and neither of them of Andrea Corr.

Is this a record?

Bloo:

I believe its a Delrin/Sterling Silver composite. Of course, the purists believe that wood is the only suitable material, though the debate rages hot and heavy. Some say simple polystyrene is just as good as Boxwood, but I think anything looks good in Nigella's hands.

I want to know what Nigella's cooking, could it be ambient lung fluid gobs?

One of these days, I'll look up the word 'punctillious.' It was actually used in one of those spats. (I think it was intended as an insult, though with plausible deniability, I suspect.)
Basically, it's another way of saying 'anal-retentive'. It means being overly concerned with the details of a code or convention.

Heh...having a Mom who was an English teacher comes in handy at the oddest times...

Tell us something.: I became interested in the beauty and versatility of Irish whistles and music over 20 years ago when I first found the Chiff boards. Yes, I do have WHOA, and I love my whistles. :)

I looked up the list...to think, I'm #47! What an honor. 7 away from making the big "Top 40." And to think, I didn't know this list existed two hours ago! I guess we now all have another dream to aspire to, besides becoming great whistlers and getting up a whistle collection as big as Dale's...

I'm number 41! Check it out. I only missed being on the top 40 list by one (not one message, but one place in the lineup)!
