How bad is your addiction?

Well, time to fess up...how bad has your addiction gotten? What whistles do you currently own and what you do prefer to play when?

Currently here is my list...

Burke DWWB (old style)
Copeland Brass D
Copeland Brass Low D
O'Brien D (Serial Number 1)
Water Weasel Eb
Water Weasel Set (Low A/G)
O'Brien Rover D
O'Brien Set (C, D, Eb, E, Bb)
Oak D (the only absolutely perfect cheap whistle I've found)
Chieftan Low D

Of the bunch, I can see myself playing the Burke a bit less (as I like the new fipple David sent me with my whistles for airs). The Copeland is my favorite for faster tunes. I've always liked my original O'Brien for the fact that it's the quietest whistle I've ever owned (for when I wanted to play at 3am when I can't sleep and waking the wife wouldn't be wise).
Alas, the Oak has gone the way of all my cheapies (few Sweetones and Susatos) and my 22month old has claimed them...he loves them too much for me to take them back).

To be perfectly honest, the Copeland Low D isn't in my possession yet...it should arrive tomorrow (they shipped it Friday). It will replace my Chieftan Low D (which I just never got a good feel for...it's not the whistle, which is fine, it's just not the sound I personally want from it at this point in time).

So...fess up and share....

With the D high whistles, I prefer to play the Freeman Custom and the Busman. For E-flat (playing along with Mary Bergin), the Freeman tweaked whistle is unsurpassed. For volume, I take the Chieftains.
Depending on mood in low D, I select different Kerry whistles due to their different interpretations.
Obviously I personally like Phil's whistles because they seem to fit me. To each his own.

1 Bb Gen. Easily the best of the lot. Annoyingly, the one I never get a chance to play in public. Had it for years and love it.

1 Oak D. Raspy, thin sound. It is tuneable though, so it sees more session time than my other D's.

1 Acorn D. See above. Other than the finish, it's pretty much identical. This is my car whistle.

1 Meg D. I really like the tone on this one. Favorite whistle to play other than the Gen.

1 Meg C. Absolute Sh!te because it is horrendously out of tune with itself.

1 Oak C. Tone similar to the Oak and Acorn D's. But better in tune than the Meg, so it's my "Julia Delaney" whistle.

Yep, it's a lot. A few of the cheapies I don't care for much any more and I'm finding ways to get them in someone else's hands. But with the other whistles, I like the different sounds on so many of them that I don't want to get rid of them. I play solo most of the time and the different qualities on different tunes are enjoyable. For instance, something like "The Fields of Athenry" sounds best to me on my Syn C. Something else may sound best on the Burke Low G. The Abell(s) and the O'Briens really are the sound I like best and what, for the most part, I'll play publicly when I have occasion.

Because I live far away from where I might get to hear the various whistles (though I've recently found out about an group on the island), I've wanted to get a sense for how they sound/play in person rather than just on a recording. (This is also why I like the whistles/flutes from other cultures as well.) While there are some brands and makers I'm not really interested in, I hope to keep collecting from a few makers. I've also got a few keys to fill in with time.
