With mashed potato and chive frosting? Yummmm!

No need to get excited, Joseph! They're just spam patties with a baked-ham sort of glaze with mashed potatoes on top.

The grease would be enough to make me hurl . . . likely for hours on end . . . but the overall concept isn't too bad. Maybe if you did it with, say, ground ham?

I expect to see this in our cafeteria shortly . . . mmmm! We've already got something that appears to be some kind of Jamaican-flavored Spam inside of some sort of mashed potato log, the whole thing deep-fried. They used to be round and about the size of tennis balls, but they sell better in a log shape. (Urp!)

Well, my mom wouldn't let us have Spam when I was little. And now we have to eat healthy too. Those look good to me.

You'd better make sure you're careful!
If it has gone green, then the meat has spoiled (i.e. don't eat it).

You're a redneck if . . . you've grilled spam.

I still prefer spam spam spam spam eggs bacon baked beans* and spam.

*preferably American-style baked beans.

That's disgusting, ruining good canned meat that way. The only proper way to have Spam is to take the whole wad out of the can, cut it into slices about 3/8" thick, and fry - both sides. Serve in toasted sandwiches with mustard.

My mother hated to cook. Fried Spam sandwiches was something she was able to handle that we actually liked. :D

I am not sure sure where I saw the program, but it was about a country in the Far East that was a big user of Spam. I think that it was South Korea, but I am not positive. It seems that the GI's traded their cans of Spam with the locals for other commodities, and canned Spam became a hot commodity in the local marketplace, so much so that they now import it in large quantities.

One thing about Spam that is appealing for such a country is that canned meat products do not need to be refrigerated or cooked before eating the product, and there is so much preservative in Spam that it will not spoil easily. For them, where meat is used as more of a condiment in largely vegetable dishes, Spam, with a high salt, high fat, high flavor quality, is a desirable product for their cuisine.
