Partly right, anyway. His theory about the conservation of energy and the resulting loss of still has some quarks that need a bit of tweaking.
Awww Will...ya had to bring up quark tweaking, didn't ya!
Quarks??? That makes no sense what so ever. I thought I typed "sharks."

My preferred technique for shark tweaking is to let Denny do it.

Actually, tracks from one of those "kitties" have been seen for the past couple of years all over cornfields in Northeastern Missouri -- a lot of rolling hills, but not too many mountains. Folks think it might have escaped from an exotic animal "farm" where people go to shoot them for "sport."

Ya know those things can decimate the local cat population.

They're not exactly kid friendly either.

They've confirmed the presence of mountain lions in Iowa too. I think in every county, although that sounds a bit odd. They are generally supposed to be extremely shy. Unfortunately, that does not help me be any the less scared of them. We are supposed to welcome them, and I do in theory. But a place I liked to go and watch birds just for fun once in a while I now feel scared to go alone because one could sneak up on me from behind. It's really silly, I know.

I'd be more concerned about the reports of chupacabra in Iowa lately. I'm surprised you haven't seen it on the news.

The train derailment was mentioned in today's Metro paper - along with the arrest of GW Bush's nephew for disruptive behaviour..

Train derailment??? Oh, yeah . . . right . . . that's what this thread started out as.

PS: More a symptom of tread drift than threadjacking, I hope. Seeing as how I'm the one responsible. [again]

I can verify that! We have neighbors who have seen the tracks, a neighbor who was stalked by one while on her horse :o , and others who have seen it/them.
