srfmowman wrote:Joe, maybe we could start a thread called "Shameles pictures of beautiful work". Only pictures with a description and the maker would be allowed and no one could comment or clutter the thread with purchase type questions or any questions at all. All pictures, All day, NO TALK. What do ya think?
I wouldn't mind, but it would be a nightmare to moderate. :D

I just finished up this set of bellows for someone. I'm brining them up to the East Coast Tionol for delivery. The clappers are paduka and the valve and outlet are African Blackwood. Fittings are nickle silver, silver and stainless steel.

Nice bellows Jim. I have been getting ready to make another set of bellows. I have also considered having a metal band around the side of the bellows plate to help make a better seal. Looks cool too.

Hey Texasbagpiper, you can't go wrong with a Hammish copy. My Hammish Moore lowland pipes sound amazingly good. How did you get the copy? Did you measure one of Hammish's chanters?

Douglas,
The metal band you see in the one picture does not go around the bellows. It is one end of the mounting for the arm belt. I don't run the belt under the pad. There is a clip on the metal band that accepts a "D " ring attached to the arm belt. The metal band/clip is one piece cut from nickle silver sheet.

There is another "D" ring on the belt that connects to a "quick connect clip" mounted by the intake valve.

HI Jim;

I'd love a closeup of the bellows edges; looks like a leather strip, turned under? What attachment method are you using (i.e. tacks, staples, etc.) for the leather, and is there cording inside the outside binding? Hard to see from the photos but the overall look is very neat.
