A handy musical notation sheet for non-musicians

Post by familyguy »

If, like me, you have not got the ability to read music, and are impatient to keep note of your own tunes, fear not! I believe I have something helpful.

The link below goes to a PDF I created of blank 6-hole images, in four configurations, so you can use open/half/closed hole notation to record your musings. (Probably having done this everyone will say "Who cant read music? What a silly idea!" Well, tough :D )

clicky clicky!

There's a bit of a wait for FileFront, so if anyone else wants to host it for me, let me know, otherwise, this is it.

For your info, it looks like this: Image

That would be good to hand out with give away whistles. So, how do I print it?

A few years back someone posted a font for MS Word that printed out whistle tab. To use it you have to cancel the automatic caps. If you didn't, a lower octave note at the beginning of a line bacame an upper octave note.
I'll bet someone can point us to that again.

Its a PDF, so Adobe Acrobat Reader (a free download from adobe.com), you just need to pick the page you like and print many copies!

Thanks to Theo for the faster hosting...filefront is a little off kilter.
