except for the enormous record of plant and animal life that no longer exist.

Look at this page to see how poeple will twist logic and reason to try to make the noah story stick:

Ahhh Blackwood, you just don't understand. All things are possible...no need to restrict everything to natural law and all that bunk like the ice cores of Greenland that show no signs of a worldwide flood within the last 200,000 years. Penguins and kangaroos? Are you nuts? Of course they can co-exist. Noah stored some ice at one end for those so climatized.

God seems to be something of a Conservationist.
He values the continuity of nature.
Even in the midst of this destructive flood, he will not wipe the slate clean
(except for human beings)
and start again. He wishes to preserve his creation.
The animal lineages that exist today go back to the beginning.
Geezus! What an argument! Hey, whatever. How can we forget that man knows all about God and all the reasons why. After all, we probably created him.

I think it's pretty clear that Noah DID NOT see Jurassic Park. If he had, he would know that velociraptors will find a way through whatever barrier you might erect to keep them contained.
It is possible though, that pre-diluvian carnivores were more user-friendly than the Spielberg models. Yes, that's probably it.

speaking of converting pagan rituals into Christian facts...now not even Yoga is safe....

Gotta get that fix - gotta have a constant dose - gotta make some money... er... I mean... put "God" (rather than G_D) on the cover of everything, because otherwise we cannot see, hear, feel or carry 'him' with us in our hearts.

I find this mindset disturbing. It in no way indicates genuine morels and certainly doesn't make people reach out to those with whom they have less in common. It's becoming an icon, actually, an idol in many ways, this use of terms, and symbols instead of real live living in right livlihood.

Ah well... some find their way with guide posts, some maps, some have to have their automatic pilot reprogrammed several times a week, and some apparently have to be led by the nose.

I suppose it is somewhat better than the tendency in the not too distant past to paint all activities not done by, in or for the church as inherently evil... er... well... seems like more of that same paint, actually. :(

As a Witch and Priest, the above statement bothers me. What, I ask, is better? Christian dogma, or Pagan aeorbics? For F's sake, I need a coffee.

Well, not at the moment, but it's only a matter of time ... http://www.postmoderncore.com/music-tangent.html

Oh, and it's "post" and "music", so it's within the parameters of the board, no?
