Peanut Butter and.......?
I've been on a peanut butter and pickle sandwich kick lately, and I know a lot of people find that terribly disgusting. But, it really is good - the flavors complement each other well and the pickle juice keeps the peanut butter from sticking to the roof of your mouth.
So, what's your favorite PB combination?

I voted plain, but really, I only like it on lightly toasted whole wheat bread with lots o' butter in a runny slick of animal and vegetable fats. Consume while warm.

Peanut butter (salted peanuts freshly ground in the deli, no sugar, no added hydrogenated fats) and banana on toasted whole-grain bread.
Second best is with plum jam. Raspberry is ok, too. But only for dessert.
Note: I seem to recall that Elvis added a load of bacon to his PB&B. Having tried it, I can tell you that it is an exquisite combination.

I had a friend, from Thailand, who made a sandwich with:
peanut butter
anchovies
onions
Tabasco sauce
said it tasted like a spicy peanut-sauce-with-fish sort of Thai meal.
I'll just sort of trust him on that one.

Peanut butter, either crunchy or not. Low(er) fat, these days. And GRAPE jelly, and no other.
On the other hand, I like banana sandwiches with mayonaise, NOT peanut butter. Cut 'em up in banana coins and mortar them in with the mayo. I've defaulted to whole grain bread these days, but my original favorite was spongy white.

I've tried PB & pickles and not been thrilled by it. My faves are not on the list. First would be PB & bacon, next is bologna, then raisins (probably tied with bananas). Grilled PB and cheese is pretty good, too.
My daughter likes PB with MINT jelly. I offered it to her one day (just because we had some left from ages ago) when we'd run out of blackcurrant preserves , and she bit. I repeatedly suggested she wouldn't like it, but she loved it. I think we went through three jars before she wanted purple jelly again.
Oh, and I have no idea why people eat the processed peanut butter. I've been doing natural for the most part for 25 years. Have even been known to grind my own.

Oops, I meant to put an "other" in the poll and then I didn't. And I forgot about PB and bacon - that's yummy too, though I haven't had it in a long time.
The whole crunchy vs. creamy is another debate - I like them both, and it just depends on what mood I'm in when I buy peanut butter.

I've done fresh ground an awful lot, but use processed mostly these days. It's just more convenient. There's emulsifiers in there to keep the oil and the pb from separating.
On fresh ground pb, you gotta stir it back in, and that takes time, and I invariably slop peanut oil on the floor, because I'm a klutz.

It's better to get it freshly ground . . . like right then. Publix grocery stores here have it in the deli. It's not separated when you buy it, because it isn't old enough to have sat there. It'll stay together for several months.
Unless your store has added peanut oil to it as an "extender" when they ground it . . . peanuts ground yesterday or today should not have separated at all.
And you don't have to stir the oil back in. Just pour it off.
