The Great Unveiling
I finally got one of these:
I bought it from of our own members who gave me a great deal on it. It was made by a Belgian maker named Geert Lejune it is model after Rudall #5088 (thats right the same one Terry McGee models his after). It is a very nice Flute and I am super happy with it.
So now a little on what I was thinking when choosing Flutes then along came the mentioned memeber with an offer. First, I wanted a Rudall for the sound so I was thinking of one made by Casey Burns but I couldn't afford the Rings and Tuning Slide, Then after the C&F North East Gathering I had tried a couple of Flutes one of them was a Glen Shultz Flute which I liked a lot and thought because of the powerful tone that it had to be a Pratten (it wasn't) so I thought well I get get a Burns Pratten, Then I decided to go for a Carl Bell Pratten, then I noticed I might be able to get a Ward Flute with no wait, I then found out the Schultz was a Rudall and decided I should get an M&E for the sake of price and wait time, and shortly after that I got a PM from the afore mentioned member. So now I finally have that Wooden Flute that I have been wanting for a long time. This is my first Wooden one and it is an upgrade for the others I have ever owned.

Wow! You can see the grain lines, even! Neat!
I see pictures like that and I want to hold that flute, roll it around in my hands, feel the wood, rub my lip on the headjoint . . . oooooh! . . . and sniff it . . . mmmm! licorice! warm oil! silver! . . .
Uh oh . . . my pupils just dilated . . .
Congratulations, by the way. Sounds like a stroke of good fortune and a good purchase!

Damned if I do and damned if I don't . . . I finally post something serious and you accuse me of slutting around with a stick!
Someone gave me some advice recently, which was that men operate on their reptile brains. I see this is true, Henke.
Just be glad I wasn't pretending innocence or misunderstanding to get attention.

This turned very dirty the moment it hit my 20 yr. old male mind.Lambchop wrote: you accuse me of slutting around with a stick!
I don't know what a reptile brain is, but if you mean that men are dirty, I agree. Proven twice in one thread.Lambchop wrote:Someone gave me some advice recently, which was that men operate on their reptile brains. I see this is true.

The flute looks really cool by the way.
I would be in a jealous rage if it had keys. Not that I wouldn't want a flute like that, but your childeren are safe for tonight at least.
(I know your in HS, and don't have kids actually. Well, I know your in high school, and hope very much that you don't have kids)
