Pat Robertson at his finest

Can you believe this guy? I have never been able to stand this joker. I'm terrified that someday he might run for president.

I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm

I rather hope he does. A futile attempt at gaining political office would (hopefully) drain his, and his followers' bank accounts. His statements are so far out from what conservatism is about as to put his type orbiting beyond sight.Flyingcursor wrote: Can you believe this guy? I have never been able to stand this joker. I wouldn't worry about a presidential bid. He's getting a bit aged, and it would be a while before he'd find a spot on the roster.
Odds are, if he ever runs, it'll be with the assurance that God's going to "take him home" if he doesn't win and, in this case, there's a good chance God will fulfill his expectations.

This is scary! But it has it's counterpart and that is well known and the two can be compared.

Goodness NO! If that happened then the Democrats would choose Jessie Jackson to run and we would have to vote for one or the other!daveboling wrote:I rather hope he does. Yes, you'd have too...Jessie Jackson will hold a gun to your head at the voting booth, and Poop Robertson will declare a fatwah on those who dont vote for him! It'll be the 2000 campaign all over againI.D.10-t wrote:Goodness NO! The US has a long history of covert involvement in manipulating the political landscape in S America. Since, as the article points out, Venezuela is the 5th largest oil exporter to the US, it is highly likely that the US is, in fact, already working to keep Chavez' government weak and its economy in turmoil. Anyone who wants to better their country by using oil as a bargaining chip is begging for US Imperial storm troopers to come in and "settle things". Its the American way.

Oh... he does have a following.jbarter wrote:I saw a similar report about this earlier on today but I didn't know if he was just a nutter or someone who might have a following in the US.

Thankfully, I think his following is getting smaller and smaller all the time.

I seem to remember quite a few years ago (if my memory serves me correctly) that Pat was trying to raise a bunch of money for some-such-or-other, and he promised that if he didn't raise X-amount, the "Good Lord would take me away". He came short of his mark... aparently the Good Lord wasn't paying attention on that particular day... or wanted absolutely nothing to do with the lunatic.
