Can anyone identify my whistle bargain
I bought this whistle in the key of F at a very reasonable price.
It was a bit dirty and has a few minor bumps and scratches.
I absolutly love its sound, its shape, and its stability right up to the 3rd octave.
I have been playing it for hours.
I have no idea of what make it is.
Neither did the guy I bought it from.
I would really appreciate it if any one of you guys could identify it please?

Its a CHIEFTAIN. It appears in your pics as being a "Gold" (Brass) is it? Whether its a Brass or Aluminum its a Chieftain.
Chieftains (OS Models) only have one stamp and thats the whistle key. It appears like your at the end opposite of the mouth piece.

No it is not brass but aluminium. I have found, while taking pictures on my kitchen table,
that the colour of some pine timber gets reflected in metal and gives it a golden sheen.
When I got the whistle it was quite dull and dirty. I bought it because it sounded good.
I used some silver polish "Hagerty" silver foam polish, which is used with water.
It did a really nice job and gently cleaned and polished up the whistle to almost new.
I also washed out the inside of the whistle.
I used a dampened piece of cardboard to clean the windway.
There was a lot of "GUNK" in the windway.
The cleaning, I felt, improved the sound.
I am really delighted with my purchase and, most importantly,
it has, like a childs new toy, renewed my playing fever.
Now all I need now is more time and more tunes!!!!!!
