The locked whistle thread

Post by Trad_A_Non »

Dale --

That's damned low of you to refer to me as "devil-may-care" regarding poisonous substances and then lock the thread. ANY thinking person who read what I wrote and understood it would know that isn't true. You can lock the thread, I don't argue with that, but your comments regarding me are cowardly.

You owe me an apology, mister.

I'll decline. I didn't refer to you in my post. Furthermore, the phrase "devil-may-care" refers to an attitude, not a person. Have a lovely day.

Taking your advice, Mrs. Wisely and I went out for our anniversary to a restaurant in Mountain Brook, Alabama called "daniel george." I had a fois gras (my desire to taste this overcame my nagging ethical objections) appetizer. The fois gras was served on bit of toast, the bread from which it was made I failed to recognize. It was served, surprisingly with grilled peaches and a cherry. The sauce was some kind of red wine reduction, but I'm not sure exactly what. Anyway, it was wonderful. Next year, I may return and have two, instead of an entree.

For my entree this evening I had a shark steak. I've not had shark more than once before, I don't think, and it was quite good. Served with a sort of mexican cornbread/spoonbread and topped with blackeyed peas. And all on top of four stalks of my favorite vegetable, grilled asparagus, which was perfection.

It was a fine meal.

I was stuffed. Please, sir, I implore you. Do yourself a favor and do the same.

Tell us something.: Long ago, I was told that I faked iTrad whistle work very well. I took that comment to heart. 20 years of private lessons - and many, many hours of rehearsal later - I certainly hope I have improved...

Ach, Dale... Please allow me to be the first (on this thread) to wish you and your wife the happiest of 26th anniversaries. The meal sounds delicious...
Be well.

Tell us something.: I play whistles. I sell whistles. This seems just a BIT excessive to the cause. A sentence or two is WAY less than 100 characters.

'Grats Dale. We are on our way to our 26th as well this year.

We will celebrate your anniversary by playing a duet with our new Bleazey Flute and our Bleazey Low D.

The flute is "The Cat's Meow" by the way.

We'll celebrate our second this fall. I know, though, that, barring death, we'll make it to 26 and beyond.

Happy anniversary, Dale.

Congrats Dale.

Since giving up cigarettes (quite a while ago) and alcohol (recently), I have a strong tendency to get stuffed frequently too. I don't need an invitation; I'm happy to get stuffed entirely in my own initiative, alone and with pleasant company. I heartily recommend it although I don't think my GP does. :)
