thanks for the welcome back, Dub and Izz - I think! :D

Spent a busy week surrounded by 300+ musicians and students. I basically spent time fire-fighting - making copies for instructors, finding instruments, redoing schedules, selling raffle tickets (Rick Thum donated a gorgeous hammered dulcimer) and photo orders, and trying to keep the festival organizer "in line". Oh - and decorating for the theme parties at night. Tom and I did one open mike, but other than that, I barely touched my dulcimer all week - and didn't get a chance to take any classes (including Guy George's whistle classes!). But it was still a great time, and we'll be "staff" next year (which means PAID!).

And - to keep this from going too OT - I feel every bit of that 47 years right now!!!

That had me baffled as well but a quick Google revealed Been there, Done that, Got the tee shirt.

Now, there ye have it.

Ahhhhhh, I see. I've always said: '... been there, done that, I laughed, I cried, I fell down, it changed my life... hell, I even bought the T-Shirt.'

Sorry to hear of your unsavory experience with Tornados Missy. I have had similar experiences with them myself. I have also been through places where F-3 through 5s have reduced towns to apocalyptic debris. That (combined with the 2,000 yard stare in the eyes of the victims), has instilled in me a great respect and sense of awe for these phenomena. I used to go out with friends who were storm spotters for the Minnesota Highway Patrol many years ago, something that I wouldn't do today.

i've done minnesota tornadoes, iowa tornadoes and even one utah tornado. i do not live in the tornado belt any more, for which i am grateful.
the brave do not live forever,
but the cautious do not live at all.
