Anamorphic Art

Post by GaryKelly »

Someone just sent me a file of Julian Beever's anamorphic pavement art.

Astonishing.

Have a look at http://users.skynet.be/J.Beever/pave.htm but here's a taster: remember it's drawn on a flat pavement:

There is no way that is drawn on flat pavement!! :o It looks like a Coke bottle just sitting there, albeit a HUGE Coke bottle! Amazing!

There's one of what looks like a well or something, with a couple of people drowning too. That one was kind of cool....or maybe I'm just sick :P

That's Tony Blair grinning while John Major (Tory ex prime minister) disappears off down there. I don't recognise the other geezer though.

I see coca-cola features heavily in his art, never a Dr. Pepper or a Pepsi to be seen. Wonder if he's sponsored?

His oil paintings are nice, as well. Very impressionistic.

(Hmm... impressionistic... too bad I can't post this in two threads at the same time...)

Try as I might I cannot make those images go flat.
I found the photos contrasting the "right" with the "wrong" view to be almost equally amazing:

Try looking at this one without it moving:
