He just did-- right here! They hang out on this board looking for people posting brag messages about their busking. Word to the wise...GaryKelly wrote:Which you have already declared to the taxman, right?amar wrote:get this, we went to dunoon for a session, we got as much free beer as we liked and even got paid!

Really! This is an excellent method to raise funds! I can extract huge sums just by carrying a whistle with me--they'll give any amount if I'll just promise not to play.izzarina wrote:I'm sure I could get paid to play in a session too, and way more than what you got amar. But that's only because they'd be paying me NOT to play

I am thinking of playing in front of my friend's store in Leavenworth, WA. Some kid goes and plays his accordian and makes $200 a day!
Chee, I can make a living off that....too bad Leavenworth is a couple hours away. If I whistled in my city I'd probably get arrested for disturbing the public or something...since my city is so...shall we say...anal?

Leavenworth? You'll have to learn to play the Chicken Dance.SilverStrand wrote:I am thinking of playing in front of my friend's store in Leavenworth, WA. Some kid goes and plays his accordian and makes $200 a day!

Dunoon is a blast! There used to be a U.S. naval base there, and when I graduated from high school in 1990 I went over there to visit a friend, a fiddler and guitar player. He brought me to play at a bunch of great sessions and dances, including a barn-raising party and a dance in a Protestant church. The church didn't allow alcohol, so we were passing around teacups of whiskey.
Seems like there were a lot of musicians around the town back then, I think the only one I remeber was box player named Graham?
