What do you call Generation-type (Walton, Oak, Feadóg, Clare, Mel Bay, etc.) whistles? :)

I plump for 'inexpensive',as maybe 'Cheap' has derogatory connotations.
I mean, you find a fabled 'Good Generation'......... you know what I mean! :D

A tightass who buys cheap and nasties...hmm, that has a nice ring to it. It should be a tune title. :P

Whistles.

Slan,

And many a poor man that has roved,
Loved and thought himself beloved,
From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.

I call them "mine".... I'm still on the lower end of purchasing power, so even some that others would call "cheap" set me back... I *do* have a couple of those good Gens though... so HaH!

It seems to me that "cheapie" is used most often on C&F and it doesn't carry any negative connotation that I can tell. In fact, if I read the tea leaves correctly, there exists a subtle reverse snobbery amongst whistlers, i.e. "if you need an expensive whistle to sound good, you probably aren't a very good whistler." I find this attitude refreshing.
The Walrus

What would a wild walrus whistle if a walrus could whistle wild?

The second mouse may get the cheese but the presentation leaves a lot to be desired.
