Gs. It was embarrassing enough when "The Spice Girls" were around

Of course...before it was ever a ringtone "Axel F" (Axel Foley) was the main theme in the movie Beverly Hills Cop. Was it 1984???

Cheers,
David

Someone had to keep the balance of talent/taste in check after the Beatles, Gary. The Spice Girls were sort of the computer worm caboose to the British Invasion.

Ha. Too bad they're ripping off Harold Faltermeyer. Or is everyone here too young to have seen "Beverly Hills Cop" ?

EDIT: It appears Feadan beat me to that punch. Nice call there.

I wish that annoying amphibian would catch 'Hamburg exploding Toad Syndrome' and do us all a favour.

I just happened to see this article this morning and, not being a denizen of the UK,
I didn't know what it was talking about. Thanks for clueing me in. So I take it the ringtone
is a frog croaking along to "Axel F"? That sounds worse than the dogs barking "Jingle Bells"
that seems to still get played every Christmas.
(Did I say "worse"? I meant "equally indicative of the Apocolypse".)

Actually that video is not the full version which can be found here:

Not having it innundating the airwaves here I confess I find it pretty amusing. Re: ringtones, IMHO they're almost always annoying when they play a tune. My cell phone ringtone is a simple ringing sound. You know...like a telephone

Ripping off? :-? I'm sure he is delighted with the royalties from all this.

You're probably right. I guess it's more like using The Who's "Baba O'Reilly" to sell the Nissan Sentra...it proves everyone has a price.

Zoiks...I've missed that one :o . Funny how marketing people use music to try & sway a particular age group. For me it instead makes me a bit sad that music I like is being demeaned to the level of being used to sell something. Brings to mind the classic B. Kliban cartoon titled “The Birth of Advertising” showing a horse’s arse pooping out little fat bespectacled bald guys in suits smoking cigars.

The annoying frog's voice isn't even original.

This has been floating around the 'Net for years.
