KDMARTINKY wrote:Ok.....I went to Kerrywhistle.com and logged onto the the forum. I read the thread which was created by Phil and I still don't understand Dale why you and the infamous from St. Claire County, IL find the thread upsetting. If anyone should be maybe a little upset I would thank that would be B. Howard because of his beautiful sounding whistle being compared with the whistle being sold by Spillane.

If I am missing something Dale, please clue me in? I would prefer to hear from you than the "Palm Tree".

Thanks
I think Dale was upset by what Phil said here on the chiffboard. Phil can post whatever he likes on his board. Of course it isn't particularly good style to use the chiffboard for advertising so consistently and then diss it by calling it names over on your own board, and Dale objected to that, too. Does this answer your question.

As for Talbert, I dare not speak for him.

So...we have to start saying "He who must not be named" a la Harry Potter?

Nah. Just call him "He who is like the PALM TREE".

I love it, too. But it's not perfect. Should be He who is "like" the PALM TREE.

Oh, it took me a minute to understand your question. It bothers me when someone uses and clearly benefits from this board while disparaging it elsewhere. People are free to do it. I just think it's bad manners. I don't like bad manners.

I'm a little fuzzy about a bunch of the stuff in the middle but based on the examples provided, I'm very clear about the 'bad manners' thing.

As I also recall, way back at the start, there was an awfully good review. I applaud your efforts and respect your oppinions Mr B.

I'd also like to say 'Hi' to Ralph.

What was this thread about again?

Bloomfield, please correct me if wrong:

1 - You actually do have, paid (dearly) for, and played and reviewed an actual Davey Spillane low D whistle.

2 - Said whistle is unremarkable in appearance, lacking both any original touches and the maker's name, logo, number, date, etc.

3 - Said whistle is also unremarkable in craftsmanship, albeit acceptable.

4 - Said whistle is not your personal favorite and does not compare favorably to other low D whistles you've played with respect to both playability and tonal qualities.

5 - Said whistle is simply not a good value.

I hope I have neither misread nor misinterpreted you Bloomfield; and, at the very least, I've avoided references to any of the unnameables or unmentionables herein.

Best,

Philo

Here's Ralph. It's a bit of a project for him to work the keyboard:

[mouse]Hi, Duffy![/mouse]

Best wishes,

Geez, if Id'd read this first I'd have missed out on the politics, the jibes, the cow jokes, Ralph's resurrection, and the TStC (can a nmae be copyrighted??). Do I have better things to do at three in the morning?!

However, very pro review, Bloomie :)
