Way to go, Walden!
Many of your posts have been memorable, but I think your definitive statement in the Uilleann Pipe forum may still be my favorite.

Yay, Walden!

Good choice. My favorite Walden post was during a hue and cry over bodhráns (third post down):

It was, in my humble opinion, the
non plus ultra of all contributions in the history of the Chiffboards.

Tell us something.: From the land beyond beyond. From the time past hope and fear. I bid you, Genie, now appear! Well, the Genie did not appear but the notification to type at least 100 characters did so I am back and typing some more as you, if anyone actually sees this, can probably tell.

Congratulations Walden, I can't conceive how you and others can reach such lofty numbers, there aren't that many hours in the day for me.

Every so often somebody kills a thread stone dead with a comment that is unanswerable. One of my favourite Walden comments falls in this category.

Given his ancestry, he was the perfect person to make this remark too. I was going to comment at the time but sometimes a remark is so perfect it's best left to speak for itself.
Keep them coming Walden.

Thank you. No doubt this will be a thread I should read again, at times when I might be feeling down.

Boy, I'd have to agree with that map, Walden! I was in Amarillo once. Brown. Dry. Cyclonically windy. We came to the Oklahoma state line. Green. Pretty. Very literally started at the "Welcome to Oklahoma" sign.
