I wonder if Hammy really prefers to play Delrin as stated in the add. I like the stuff, and I think Desi Seery prefers it.

Edit note: Hey, I'm finally "in" with the in crowd if Hammy's delrin preference is true...

Careful Eric, the add says he has one not that he prefers it. :)

I'd really love to have a Hammy, anyone want to trade, or trade plus $?
I can only get one if I get rid of one, and they're all such great flutes!

I remember hearing that one of Hammy's favurite flutes is an Eb he made for himself in some strange, bendable delrin material. I think that's the flute you can hear on the WFO1 cd.

Hammy once made a flute out of nylon, I believe, which is bendable.

I have a Delrin Seery; it doesn't bend.

To use an ancient Scottish turn of phrase - "That is pure boggin'"

Why anyone would want a white flute is beyond me (but live & let live, I guess). I have no doubt that the flute plays beautifully but it's a bit like buying a pink Ferrari - you just don't do it - you get a red one, or a yellow one at a push. With flutes you get a black one, or a boxwood one if you like. Everyone knows red cars go faster!

Just so you all know, my Ferrari is red........... But it really belongs to my 3 year old son, and is only 1:43 scale - alas!

I think it is pathetic seeing people ( and some of them grown adults ) go all gooey just because a piece of plastic is white rather than black.
( White may be OK for cute clapboard cottages in Virginia or wherever but pretty tacky for a flute. I fear that it is rarely appropriate these days for bridal gowns ! )
I hope you don't choose your politicians like that.
God knows how you do choose them, though, seeing what you end up with !
I suppose it is the old problem of if they want the job they are not fit to have it. !
Are we to understand that Mr Hamilton made a white flute for himself, ( in which case the one on offer is not unique ) or merely a plastic one ?

Strange that it's unique, specially-made-to-order at additional cost to the purchaser... who presumably specified exactly what he wanted, and who's now selling it simply because he has 'too many instruments.'

Meanwhile I wait patiently in Hammy's list with only a few months to go. Sigh.

Oh thanks Doc...shatter my delusions of grandeur!

Andrew - don't you think the white mimics a nice, new Ivory flute? Not my thing, but I can see some folks liking that. Perhaps if soaked in some nice warm tea it would take on the lustre of old ivory?
