Myself, I've been listening to The Chieftans "The Wide World Over." One of my favorite Celtic CD's. I've also been listening to Final Fantasy: Celtic Moon...I never thought I'd hear a nice Celitc arrangment of Chocobo music :D . Finally I listened a bit to the Blade II soundtrack. Yup, I've got a pretty varied taste.

Besides being on 2 of the 3 Deanta CDs, you do know that Deirdre is now in the London Lasses (2nd CD)?

Johnny Clegg and Savuka: "Heat, Dust and Dreams". An excellent blend of traditional Zulu and comtemporary folk rock, that has just a hint of Irish folk in it. Magic!

We can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine.

Karan Casey, "Distant Shore", John Skelton & Kieran O'Hare, "Double-barrelled", and Toumani Diabate & Ballake Sissoko, "New Ancient Strings" - Malian kora music. Great stuff. I may branch out into the Monks of the Screw (nothing like it sounds :P) later. Or maybe La Bottine Souriante...
I have assignments due. I've listened to more today than in the last 2 weeks!

"Tracin" by GEAROID O'HALLMHURAIN

Gearoid gave a house concert here in Windsor Ontario yesterday and I have always liked his music and wee lecture about the history or Irish music in Ireland and later in the world.

It's Beautiful Day (Love that Wasted Union Blues -- "So tired I don't know if I can take it/So wasted I don't know if i can make it.")

Mahler Symphony # 1, the Titan (with the Blumine movement)

Currently: Fiona Apple. Nice music plus her voice is one of the very few that is in a perfect range for me to sing along to.

Earlier: Soundtrack to the movie Holes. Not usually the type of listen to, but I really like it.

Even earlier: Chieftans 8 and Kiss Me Kate soundtrak

Tribalistas! for today, but have been listening to heaps of Chingy though. Man - he rocks my socks off =) and beginning to grow very fond of Altan, and their face-paced fiddling. The CDs with Frankie Kennedy :sniffle: was the bombest of the lot, but I am just biased. :)

Pretty much non-stop from Saturday morning (thatis to say, when I haven't been playing music:

Mick O'Brian and Caomhin O'R~ (Ok, I have no clue how to spell his name): Kitty Lie Over.

How did I get through life without this CD??

For all you people who "don't like the sound of pipes": Get this CD.

Sighs

PS: Let me just say, there is no better way to wake up then to come downstairs, open up all the interior doors, put Kitty Lie over in the player, and crank the volume until your parents (who are outside) come in, and ask you to open the windows up so they can hear it just a little better...

sighs again
