We built this city... was a Starship song I do believe.

Ready? Huh? Ready?

Boston
Supertramp
Led Zeppelin
Black Sabbath
Queen
Lynard Skynard
Molly Hatchet
Jethro Tull
Styx
Police
Talking Heads
Pretenders.
Stray Cats
Rolling Stones
Jefferson Airplane
Blue Oyster Cult
Led Zepplin- Gallows Pole
Queen- Bohemian Rapsody
Jethro Tull- Skating Away
Police- Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic
Talking Heads-Once in a Lifetime
Stray Cats- Stray Cat Strut
Rolling Stones- Ruby Tuesday
Jefferson Airplane- Embryonic Journey
Blue Oyster Cult- Don't Fear the Reaper- but I hear the skit from SNL "I need more cowbell!!!"

I did not answer for all since I'm terrible with tune names. I did not have anything come to mind for some, or, maybe it's the fact that I never really liked anything those bands did enough to learn the name of any of their tunes?

Pearl Jam
REM
U2
Nirvana
Rage Against The Machine
10,000 Maniacs
Beastie Boys
ALice in CHains
Smashing Pumpkins

OK, I'll try these ... I draw a complete blank on Wormdiet's list.

Little Feat .... I have and like all the early albums but can't think of the name of a single tune. This just might be the story of their career.
Nick Lowe ... No idea.
XTC ... complete blank
Squeeze .... eh?
Ian Dury and the Blockheads ... Bellaricky Dickie ... (Ok, all the early singles are favourites too.)
John Cooper Clarke ... who he?
Captain Sensible ... ditto
The Specials ... oh one of my favourite bands. Ghost Town if I'm forced to choose from about 30+ favourites. Strictly I susppose this was the Special AKA.
Elvis Costello .... the whole debut album but Allison comes to mind
Dave Edmunds ... blank
Sons of Champlin ... no idea
Moby Grape ... complete blank
Aimee Mann ... ditto

OK, here's a completely different kind of list not at all attuned to niche radio. All of these figures are stars who transcend their fields .... I wonder if we cluster when it comes to associating songs or with them.

Billie Holiday
Duke Ellington
Muddy Waters
The Carter Family
B.B.King
Benny Goodman
Louis Armstrong
Hank Williams (sr.)
Frank Sinatra
Robert Johnson
Bing Crosby
Bessie Smith

Jethro Tull = Aqualung

And that's only because somebody loaned me a tape of his a few months ago.
