South East Piper's Gathering May 7th in Georgia

Post by snoogie »

The date's been settled. We'll be having a piper's gathering at my house in Roswell, GA (near Atlanta) on May 7th.

Start time will be 12:30pm, play some tunes, and work on reeds as necessary. Around 5ish, we'll throw some burgers and dogs on the grill, then go back to it until everyone decides to go home.

I'll invite some other musicians over for an after dinner session.

Just like last time, I'll supply the food and soft drinks. Bring any adult beverages you'd enjoy...I'll also have some Guinness and a bit o' Jameson on hand.

So far we have 4 pipers attending plus myself.

PM or email me for directions.

Slan,
gary

It was a smallish gathering last time, but it was a most pleasant time. I am looking forward to it in May. See you then.

I've got a spanky new reed straight from K. Lynch, and I'm planning on being there. Thanks for hosting Gary!

What a nice time!

It was nice to meet new people and listen to their piping... in addition to seeing some excellent examples of pipe making! Big Thanks to Gary (snoogie) and Trish White for hosting this event. I am really looking forward to the next gathering. :)

Once I get permission from the pipers, I'll post some photos.

Joseph and others,

It was a great day. There were some fine examples of pipes and piping to be experienced.

We had a nice mix of pipers through the spectrum from just getting started to quite advanced.

My thanks also to Gary and Tricia and I hope to see all of you (and more) at our next gathering.

As for the pictures, post way.

Thanks to everyone who attended...I really enjoyed it. Excellent conversation and excellent piping (since I didn't play much!).

We ended up with 11 pipers...for some reason my family decided to depart for the day...they suddenly had other plan...I can't understand why. :-?

Hey all,
Glad it went well. Sorry I couldn't be there, but I could feel the warm wishes and could hear the clink of glass raised for me in my abscence.
As for my part, there are some hundred families who are a little safer from the threat of rabies now.
:o
Next gathering...

A very nice fella, Ed Harrison and his fine C# Rogge full set. Great tone off of it!

Pelham and Lewis playing the K&Q Beehive set with a K&Q D chanter... great set! Too bad the humidity dropped and threw things out of whack. We sat outside and it seemed to help, but not an awful lot. Still, a great time and great tuneage was had.
