Spring is here. It's time to celebrate

Post by dwinterfield »

And what is your favorite way of acknowledging this very positive event?

For me, this year it means fun in the sun with a chain saw and a lot of fallen tree limbs. That's followed by sitting in the sun, being really happy I'm sitting in the sun!

Equinox is the middle of Spring.

The beginning of Spring is Imbolc.

It's Spring Equinox in Japan tomorrow.

It's a national holiday.

Huzzah!

I have to go and wash some old graves with my wife.

Boo!

I try to spend some time outdoors, meditating... maybe a tarot reading if I'm feeling the need. Normally I do the whole egg-balancing thing with the kids and talk to them about the Equinox, but they're out galavanting with friends today. It's looking to be a rather peaceful day! ;)

It's okay, izz... we had to differ somewhere along the way, otherwise it might get to be creepy or something. ;)

Actually, it *is* tea. :D

My kids and I will be making pysanky today. My father taught me when I was in my teens. Nice to be able to pass it on to my kids. Usually I don't keep any that I make. They are created with someone in mind to give them to. Here are a couple (goose eggs) I did back in 2002 that I still have.

Happy Spring!

Those are gorgeous eggs.

When I was a kid we made decorated eggs and paste eggs.

We also had egg jarping and egg rolling competitions at school.

Eggtastic.

Is it still called spring for people in the Southern Hemisphere, where it gets colder this time of year?

It's snowing here. :sniffle: Guess I'll be shoveling...

I'll celebrate when the shovel and the snowblower go to bed for the season! :D

Anything else is not traditional, it's contemporary. :D
