The Galtee Rangers. Planxty on After the Break recorded it as Callaghan's. Most famously recorded by Denis Murphy.

Here is what Fiddler's Companion has to say:
GALTEE RANGERS, THE (Fiannóglaigh na nGeailtí). AKA and see "Callaghan's," "Humours of Galtymore." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard. AB. Some similarities in parts to "The Blackberry Blossom." Source for notated versions: fiddler Denis Murphy, 1966 (Gneeveguilla, Sliabh Luachra region, Co. Kerry, Ireland) [Breathnach, Bulmer & Sharpley]. Breathnach (CRE II), 1976; No. 201, pg. 104. Bulmer & Sharpley (Music from Ireland), 1974, Vol. 3, No. 22. GN1, Joe Thoma, "Up the Track: Traditional Music from Kenmare." Tara Records 3001, Planxty - "After the Break" (appears as "Callaghan's" with Denis Murphy credited as the source). Claddagh CC5, Denis Murphy & Julia Clifford - "The Star above the Garter."

I am constantly being corrected on this as being "The Galtee Ranges" - not Rangers - after a mountain range in Ireland.

I'd rather be atop the foothills than beneath them.

Isn't it the Galtee Range? So Galtee Rangers would be people who walk about on the Galtee Range?

I've never heard of a single range of mountains referred to in the plural. :-?
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that schwing

There is a Gaelic football team called the Galtee Rangers, and Rangers is an old term for a Battalion of Soldiers.I'm sure you all know "The Galtee Mountain Boy"..

I joined the Flying Column in Nineteen and Sixteen
In Cork with Sean Moylan, in Tipperary with Dan Breen
Arrested by Free Staters and sentenced to die
Farewell to Tipperary, said the Galtee Mountain Boy

We went across the valleys and over hilltops green
Where we met with Dinny Lacy, Sean Hogan and Dan Breen
Sean Moylan and his gallant men that kept the flag flying high
Farewell to Tipperary, said the Galtee mountain boy

We tracked the Dublin Mountains; we were rebels on the run
Though hunted night and morning, we were outlaws but free men
We tracked the Wicklow Mountains as the sun was shining high
Farewell to Tipperary, said the Galtee mountain boy

I bid farewell to old Clonmel that never more will see
And through the Galtee mountains that oft times sheltered me
The men who fought for liberty and who died without a sigh
May their cause be ne'er forgotten, said the Galtee Mountain Boy.

Christy Moore does a grand version..

Slan,
D.
And many a poor man that has roved,
Loved and thought himself beloved,
From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.

Boy, you guys are good! It always amazes me how quickly some of you can identify tunes. I just transcribed it from a session and needed a name to put on my printed music. I already have too many Gan Ainms in my Finale files. Thanks!
