I just received a new C chanter from Kirk Lynch, here's a pic of it next to my concert D chanter for comparison.

The bottom hand is a real stretch for me, takes some getting used to, the reed is lighter than the D chanter and that also takes some getting used to.

Overall it is much more fun to play slow airs on this - they just sound cooler.
