What the hell is that?

Behavior
The Beagle Harrier is hardy, vigorous, fast, agile, and courageous but less powerful than the Harrier. With his determination and keen sense of smell, he works well in packs and is not afraid to enter even the thickest brambles. This easygoing, straightforward dog is a pleasant companion.
Advice
He needs space and exercise, as well as regular brushing.
Function
Hunting dog. Companion dog.

Ohhh, Danke Schoen.
Except for the fast and agile part, it's pretty accurate. One of my sister's (many) boyfriends used to call me One-speed. And not quick-speed.
Also, they need to trim that dog's nails. Eek!

Music, like religion, unconditionally brings in its train all the moral virtues to the heart it enters, even though that heart is not in the least worthy.

Yeah, from the nails we can tell that the pictured dog sure hasn't spent any time in the brambles while following a trail.teeisblue wrote:Ohhh, Danke Schoen.

Tried to answer all kinds of ways to get Russian Wolfhound (Borzoi) which is truly my favorite dog, but the first time I answered as best I could I was an Afghan Hound and then a series of dogs I had never heard of. I can't be an Afghan Hound for the simple reason that if I had a tail, I would not let it curl around in such a pretentious and precious way. I would like my tail to hang like a Borzoi, thank you very much, and have a Borzoi's nice leg feathering. I like Greyhounds too, and might think of adopting an old track Greyhound.

Ahh, but as an Afghan you can have the little "beard" and "oriental eye" that gives the great ones the aloof "look". I really can't describe it but if you've ever seen one with this you will know it. It's quiet majestic-
On the other hand......deal with it. I've had Skye Terriers be a large part of most of my life and I'm told I'm a field spaniel!!!! yet still I manage to go on somehow..........
If you can give it a good home, definately adopt a greyhound off the track They are wonderful dogs with great personalities. Oh, and if it comes off the track it will not be old. They put them down when they are through with them- that is unless they are gotten by the greyhound rescue and adopted. Go for it.

In all my many, many years of showing and as a vet tech, I never saw one that wasn't looking "worried" and fearful. Maybe that's where the "fish-eyed" thing comes in?aderyn_du wrote:This was me:

Slan,

And they're always well mannered. Of course the drawback would be that inspite of improvements in medicine, genetics, etc. these giants only have an average life span of six years.
