I made a few whistles for him once, and he made tape for me on the Ahava Rabba whistle but I don't have any tape equipment to convert it.

Anyway, for a long time I didn't hear anything else from him and one day I got a nasty letter about ignoring his emails - I didn't get any emails from him. How do you ignore something that you never received?

I suspected that something was wrong with his email and I answered back but never got a reply.
