Just one last shameless plug for the 2005 Florida Tionol. It promises to be a great time and I hope to see a lot of Chiffers there! :)

.....hmmmmmm, not that I know of. Personally, I think the hide looks best on the Gator. Now, if somebody could figure out a way to tie in drones, regs and chanter without losing limb or life, that would be something. :D

I do like the sound of "Gator Land Tionol".

I'll be there. Not only is it my first tionol, but I might be the only Philadelphian in Florida who isn't there for the Super Bowl!

Cheers,
Mark

I look forward to meeting you there Mark, it will be a grand time I am certain.

Out of curiosity, who else from this forum will be in attendance? Gary (snoogie), what time/day are you planning on showing up?

Joseph,
I'll be there Friday evening. Along with Matt (buttermilk piper) and a fiddle player in tow. It's only a nine hour drive from Knoxville. Had a grand time last year; and know that this year will be even better. Can't wait.

Rick

ps What's on tap this year? :D

Hmmmmm, good question. Mike Henry (the piper with the O'Grady 1/2 set last year) is the biermeister... not sure if he was last year or not, but I enjoyed the selection... again, not sure what it was but it went down good and fast. :D

It'll be nice to see you again Rick, in addition to meeting your friends. :)

I'm leaving Atlanta noon-ish on Friday and depending on weather and traffic should be arriving between 5 and 6pm...just in time for the tapping of the keg!

I know there is another Atlanta contengent (sorry, I can't spell) that is also heading down there...a couple of fiddlers and a flute player I think.

Lookin forward to it!
What time will you be in attendance Mr. Smith? -gary

P.S. edited to add...I'm not making any promises either

Joseph,
After 9 hours on the road, who cares what the label on the keg says!
Snoogie, I'll bet that Atlanta contingent includes Pellham. Also Kathryn, a good fiddler and friend of a fiddler from Knoxville that's coming with her. So let's see that's two pipers and two fiddlers from Knoxville. A box player had to pull out at the last minute. (Is that a different note on the pull? :) )

I hope to be rolling into Gainesville around 3 pm, checking into my room, having a bite to eat and a cuppa Lyon's. After that, I am not really sure until the keg is tapped.

You are correct about the attendees...

By the way, I'm bringing my friend Mr. James On in case you need to unwind after 9 hours on the road and the beer's not doin it.

Just a quick note of thanks to the organizers of the 2005 FL Tionol.

thanks for all the hard work.

Debbie Quigley is a great teacher..I got home and was able to remember how to play the tune she taught us by ear..a first for me to remember a tune taught by ear without going back to the tape multiple times (or cheating and finding the dots).

Too many other things to mention and I'm a bit sleepy...more another day.

Regards,
Gary
